As MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Buyer you will play a pivotal role in procuring goods and services necessary for the maintenance, repair, and operation of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Manage the in-house MRO stores to uphold stock accuracy and provide effective service to the required departments.
- Place orders for MRO parts to maintain agreed stock levels, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed timescales.
- Arrange for non-stock parts and repairs as needed, ensuring delivery adheres to agreed timescales.
- Ensure purchases stay within budget or obtain appropriate approvals if purchase prices exceed the budget.
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods within agreed timescales, managing exceptional freight authorizations accurately.
- Record order delivery dates accurately to ensure the availability of the most up-to-date information.
- Maintain accurate and current supplier and product data.
- Safely manage and coordinate the storage and issue of MRO parts in line with approved procedures.
- Process documentation and system transactions to maintain control and accuracy of MRO inventory.
- Conduct MRO inventory cycle counts, maintain stock accuracy.
- Adhere to all site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and procedures.
- Follow all policies and procedures for accident control and prevention.
- Report any accidents/incidents.
- Support and engage in supplier development programs and reviews to meet business targets.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the company's supplier compliance program, ensuring due diligence is applied as per business requirements.
**Ideal experience and skills**:
- Background in MRO supply (both purchasing and storekeeping)
- Operating in a fast-paced environment to challenging deadlines
- Planning and procurement of raw materials
- Working within Supply Chain/ buying team
- Working with MRP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong MS Office, including intermediate Excel
- Team Player
- Self-motivated and a flexible approach to workload and tasks
**Education**
- HNC in a business discipline would be an advantage
- CIPS or similar qualification would be an advantage but not essential
