**Rate**: £55 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

**Duration**:12 months

**Location**: Malvern

**Description of role**:
An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer is required to be part of a wider technology development team, working collaboratively across multiple projects developing fast turnaround bespoke and developmental lectro-mechanical hardware / enclosures and assemblies.Primarily working on site with the option to work partialy from home.

**Role requirements**:
Experience of product design and development including:

- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently on small packages of work.
- A good understanding of Through Life Engineering and its contribution to project delivery.
- Ability to understand and interpret system requirements, communicate design trade-offs, provide input to design reviews, providing technical and presentation material.
- Demonstrates good knowledge of material types and properties, surface finishes applied, and sealing and fastener systems.
- Design for EMI (electromagnetic interference) and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing, compliance and certification.
- Design and documentation of machined and fabricated parts and enclosures with integrated electrical and electronic sub-assemblies.
- Proven ability to control the configuration of complex assemblies and drawing packs.
- Proven ability to liaise with manufacturing suppliers.

**Desirable Skills and Knowledge**:

- Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks.
- SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM).
- Application of BS 8888 geometric product specification, geometric tolerance specification and engineering drawings.
- Experience in both bespoke one-off design and mass manufacture an advantage
