**Job Title: Get Moving Worker**

**Salary: Grade 2 - £20925.00 to £22741.00 pro rata**

**Location: Based in our Scarborough office but with travel required within the borough of Scarborough**

**Purpose of the role**:
Age UK North Yorkshire Coast and Moors are working in collaboration with North Yorkshire Sport to provide home based instructed support for people over fifty who have experienced deconditioning due to reduced activity levels during the Covid 19 pandemic and have diminished confidence in leaving their homes and participating in social activities. You will provide sessions which address strength, balance, coordination and confidence needs over a block of 2 x 1-hour sessions per week for 4 weeks. You will also take over our successful Extend classes of exercise and taking them to new venues.

**Key Responsibilities**

Exercise instruction
- Ability to motivate participants to effect behaviour change
- Ensure that service protocols issued by North Yorkshire Sport, and latest Government guidance regarding COVID-19 recommendations are fully followed
- Possess a sincere interest in the client’s needs and provide a service where participants feel listened to, understood and their needs are catered to through an empathetic approach

Communication
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to sustain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, external organisations and partnerships
- Ensure effective communication links with service managers and referral partners

Planning and organisation
- An ability to manage own workload
- Provide home visits for referred participants for one-hour sessions twice a week for a period of four weeks

Administration
- Documentation completed for each participant, information collated and input on appropriate database

**Person Specification**
- Experience of working with older adults and/or frailer older adults (one to one or group)
- Experience of working with people with complex medical and long-term conditions
- Experience of leading chair based exercise sessions
- Empathic to the issues and needs affecting older people
- Relevant accredited exercise qualification
- Knowledge and understanding of the psychology of behaviour change
- Be able to drive and have access to a car (full expenses paid)
- IT literate including Microsoft 365, use of the internet and online shared diaries
