We are currently working with a company based in Newbury who are a global supplier of chemicals to a wide range of industries including pharmaceutical, life sciences and diagnostic sectors. They specialize in the production of carbohydrates, nulceosides,enzyme substrates and biochemicals. They are currently looking for an experienced Synthesis Chemist to join their Research and Development team.

What You’ll Do:

- Design and develop chemistry for custom synthesis projects as well as catalogue products
- Carry out and accurately report characterisation and data analysis
- Plan work efficiently in order to meet project deadlines
- Prepare reports for both internal and external use
- Perform all laboratory work in accordance with strict health and safety procdedures
- Supervision of junior chemists where necessary

Who You’ll Be:

- Industry experience in desirable but not essential
- A proven track record in a variety of organic synthesis techniques
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Be self-motivated, well organised and a pro-active learner
- Able to work well in a team, have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
