**Role**: Buyer

**Location**: Aston, Birmingham

**Salary Band**: £25,000-£34,000 per annum

**Schedule**: Mon - Thurs (37.5 hours)

The Buyer will procure and manage various indirect spend requirements for the company to ensure value for money, buying efficiencies, supplier compliance to agreed contractual terms, KPIs and SLAs.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage the procurement governance process and strategy across the business
- Identify and research potential new suppliers as well as developing supplier relationships to negotiate the best prices for the company
- Ensure the company is aware of market changes, impacts of legislation or regulation
- Plan inventory purchasing
- Develop and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and inventory control programs
- Co-ordinate a successful sourcing strategy
- Facilitate the introduction of key suppliers to company level stakeholders
- Research new products and services to meet the company's goals
- Assess the total costs of company purchases
- Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels (Kanban)
- Assist with Stock Management
- Challenge, enhance and standardise existing procurement practices
- Realise and deliver cost savings, together with a range of additional benefits including improved supplier performance, improved quality of service and total cost
- Managing and organising “on the day” transport and equipment
- Adhere to the business values (see below)

**Requirements**:

- Experience within the manufacturing industry (_essential_)
- Experience in contract implementation and management (_essential_)
- Experience in Aluminium windows & doors (_desired_)
- Experience using Xero _(desired)_
- A working knowledge of finance cost management and risk management
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Anticipate change and produce solutions
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- A problem solver
- Excellent communication and presentational skills
- Proactive, organised and able to manage own time
- Confidence to manage budgets and undertake financial forecasting
- Training will be provided where required
