**Job Summary**

Working for a global manufacturing business your responsibility will be for designing and developing interconnection solutions to meet customer needs.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Support the Engineering Team with design and development of tooling solutions.
- Support Operations and external production facilities with design support and ongoing development of agreed tooling solutions.
- Identify and promote best practice in tool manufacture and maintenance.
- Manufacture mainly carbon tooling using CAD/CAM techniques using the company’s CNC Milling Machine and manual Lathe.
- Create and manage CAM programs for future manufacture.
- Manage tooling and material stock levels to maintain continuous production.
- Communicating with external suppliers to define the Make Vs Buy strategy for tooling.
- Play a key role in the development of future processes and Capex requirements for tooling manufacture, to ensure the company remains at the forefront of product development and manufacture.
- Play a key role and support the Engineering team with Process improvement and product development.
- HNC or equivalent in relevant Mechanical Engineering Discipline or similar
- Experience of Assembly processes
- Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing techniques and their implementation
- Problem solving abilities
- Experience writing technical documents
- Demonstrated understanding of Manufacturing Techniques
- Demonstrated Process improvement experience
- Understanding of Design and Manufacturing
- Ability to create/interpret engineering drawings
