An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Housing Options Service. We are seeking a Housing Options Officer to join our team to support us in delivering excellent housing options services.

The post holder will be required to provide all households that present in housing need with appropriate, accurate and timely advice information and assistance; and take reasonable steps to help prevent those threatened with homelessness from becoming homeless and help households to secure suitable alternative accommodation in accordance with the Housing Act and Homeless Reduction Act.

You will provide timely high quality frontline housing related advice and assistance in order to maximise our customers’ housing opportunities. You will investigate and take action to prevent homelessness occurring, making homeless decisions in all aspects of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

You may be asked to carry out home visits to verify details and to ensure that applicants are eligible and have been correctly banded on DHC.

We are looking for someone who has suitable relevant experience of working within a housing options/homelessness prevention service and has a competent working knowledge of relevant housing legislation. You will be confident to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and have excellent written and oral communication skills,

You will need full valid driving licence and have use of a suitable insured vehicle for business purposes.
