**The role**:
To work within a multi-disciplinary team engaged in a wide variety of exciting and challenging projects; providing ecological advice and support to the Council and its partners; and helping secure positive outcomes for biodiversity.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the development management process, the preparation of biodiversity and nature conservation policies and strategies, the maintenance of a robust ecological evidence base, the preparation of funding bids and the development and delivery of green infrastructure and nature recovery projects
- Providing ecological support and advice in relation to the management of Council assets, maintenance programmes, infrastructure projects and development proposals.
- Undertaking, procuring and coordinating ecological assessments and survey work to inform and facilitate Council activities; and ensure compliance with wildlife legislation and the delivery of positive outcomes for biodiversity.
- Representing the Council on various fora and developing effective relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders to further the Council’s objectives and corporate priorities including tackling climate change and achieving ecological recovery.

**Applicant Requirements**:

- **Qualifications**: Appropriate environmental degree or equivalent.
- **Experience**: Undertaking ecological assessments and survey work. Experience of preparation of ecological reports.
- **Compliance**: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references.
- **Travel**: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**: 37.5 hours p/w.
