The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint a joint Inclusive Support and Mental Health Advisor to:

- Provide advice, guidance and support to disabled students and applicants
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders identifying appropriate support routes and reasonable adjustments.
- Coordinate and support other Inclusive Support related activities, such as awareness raising events, open days and transition events.
- Work with colleagues from across Student Services and the wider University to provide specialist mental health and/or wellbeing support and resources for students, maximising their student experience.

Significant experience of managing caseloads is essential, as is experience of working to standard mental health assessments, policies, and procedures. Joining our friendly team, the successful applicant will have the ability to establish relationships with academic and support staff from both clinical and non -clinical backgrounds and communicate effectively showing a good understanding of diversity and inclusion issues relating to mental health and disabilities.

Applicants will be educated to degree level (or equivalent), with a relevant professional qualification in the field of mental health, for example: RMHN nursing degree or equivalent, Mental Health Social Work, High Intensity Therapist/Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification from a BPS accredited programme of study; Clinical psychology doctorate.

Emotional resilience to work calmly under pressure and with autonomy is essential and the successful applicants will have the ability to recognise their own limitations and seek additional support where necessary.

The working pattern for the post is three days (Monday to Friday), 09:00-17:00, however the post holder will need to be flexible in terms of working hours to support the service. There may be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based at Uclan’s West Lakes campus in Cumbria.
