Breakthrough in Education are looking to recruit a teaching assistant for an early years position within an SEND school in the Bury St. Edmunds area. This position is for an enthusiastic new member to join a team of TA’s led by a class teacher, to provide the best quality care and education to an early years class of students with SEND. This offers you the opportunity to work with all kinds of facilities and learning styles catered to providing the best care to students with complex needs, and allows for you to gain experience with alternative forms of communication, education and extracurricular activities.

The Role:
Within this position, you will be expected to,
- Assist in the teaching of the students alongside the class teacher
- Provide one to one education to the students when it is necessary
- Assist in lunch and snack times
- Ensure the classroom is safe and tidy, in order to ensure limited distractions and the best quality care
- Observe and assist in outside play, ensuring the students maintain their independence safety
- Assist in extracurricular activities, such as soft rooms, sensory rooms, accessible gym activities and therapy sessions such as rebound therapy, speech and language therapy and much more

- Empathetic and understanding to the needs of the children
- Have a clear and precise understanding of your safeguarding responsibilities
- Remain patient and calm in all circumstances
- Maintain a level of professionality when interacting with staff, students and parents
- Remain friendly and personable
- Able to engage in creativity to assist the students in expressing themselves through learning
