**Occupational Therapist (Locum)**

**Role Summary**:

- **You will manage a caseload providing assessment, advice and equipment and/or adaptations, for disabled children and their families within their own homes.**_

You will also be providing support and advice to carers, other professionals, and partner agencies. A significant part of our role is to assess for needs in accordance with Disability Facilities Grant legislation (Housing Grants Construction and RegenerationAct 1996).

You will work within a small but established team. The Paediatric Occupational Therapy sits within the Case Management Team who work with Older People and Physical Disabilities. This enables the Paediatric Occupational Therapy team to benefit from widerpeer support from experienced Occupational Therapists in the wider team and broader social care resources.

The Paediatric Occupational Team work closely with a number of services and are proactive in identifying opportunities for collaboration including with children’s social care teams, wheelchair services, health partners, education, assistive technology, careand equipment providers, and the community and voluntary sector.

As a service we are committed to training, and invest significantly in Occupational Therapy learning and development. We innovate and take a proactive approach to service development. The post holder will be able to contribute to the development of new andexisting practices and procedure.

**Requirements**:

- HCPC registration
- BSC/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- You will be competent in formulating clinical assessments and use clear and concise clinical reasoning skills.
- You will ideally have knowledge of legislation and policies of the provision of services to disabled children and their carers.
- You will need effective written and verbal communication
- Experience of working with people with disabilities, desirable
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team, and working collaboratively to support people to achieve their goals and maximise their independence
