Senior Governance Officer

The College is seeking to recruit a Senior Governance Officer to provide quality support for a range of governance and compliance functions. Supporting the Director of Corporate Governance, Risk and Compliance, you will be part of the governance team also including the Governance Risk and Compliance Administrator.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that effective arrangements are in place to ensure there is a comprehensive and robust corporate governance administrative framework which meets its reporting requirements effectively contextualising discussions to identify key messages and actions. You will review, develop and maintain governance systems, including the Corporation’s information portal, producing Governor meeting packs within appropriate deadlines, minute-taking at Corporation and other Governor meetings and other duties such as tracking Governor attendance and supporting regulatory and other audit requirements.

You will also support the coordination of individual governor engagement including activities such as learning visits, student focus groups and lead governor activity.

The role will involve attendance at Corporation and other Governor meetings. There are around 15 evening meetings a year, and your attendance at these meetings will provide you with flexibility with your working hours and provide the opportunity for hybrid home/workplace working.

Able and confident to work independently, you will have an awareness of corporate governance and experience of minute writing at board level, with a high level of IT skills. Previous experience in a legal or compliance environment would be advantageous.
