Senior Buyer

DIAM is a world leader in the POS, display, merchandising and brand retail services sectors. We create, develop and install Retail & Merchandising solutions to enhance the consumer’s experience in points of sale within the cosmetics industry.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Buyer to join our busy Commercial Team. If you have demonstrable experience as a Senior Buyer, then we want to hear from you If it's in the POS & retail display industry, even better

You will be responsible for managing and expanding the current supply base; leading on negotiations, assessing supplier capacities; making recommendations and ensuring best purchasing practice. You will liaise across the Group, facilitating intercompany trading as appropriate.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Direct & indirect purchases
- Management & assessment of approved supplier list
- Introduction of new suppliers in line with business strategy
- Visit and audit potential suppliers, reporting back on findings and actions
- Ensure suppliers follow strict ethical trading procedures
- Negotiate extended credit terms with current suppliers
- Source alternative materials in line with our philosophy of re-use, repurpose & recycle
- Manage & plan long lead-time components (electrics, plastic sheet)

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- A minimum of 4 years' purchasing experience in senior buyer role
- Process knowledge of injection moulding, metal fabrication & joinery
- Strong time management skills & the ability to work under pressure
- Self motivated with a strong 'can do' attitude
- Good work ethic
- Flexible & adaptable
- Commercially aware
- Willingness to travel with a valid clean driver's licence
- Knowledge of Point of Sale would be an advantage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £35,000.00 per year
