**What you will be doing**:
Our finance team is growing, and as part of that growth, we are looking to recruit a qualified Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Accounting and Processing Manager, this is a varied role which will manage, control and co-ordinate all aspects of the monthly financial close and preparation of the management accounts.

The main focus of the role will be to manage the external audit process and statutory accounts preparation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that all nominal journals are accurate and correctly posted.
- Manage the monthly close schedule.
- Prepare / compile monthly group and entity management accounts / financial statements.
- Co-ordinate the compilation of monthly commentary to accompany management accounts, contributing as necessary.
- Review and approve journal entries.
- Oversee the preparation of and approve all balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide ad hoc analysis, reports, metrics and commentary.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for all areas of revenue and margins.
- Continue to increase efficiencies in processes to generate metrics which are required for financial statement reporting purposes.
- Participate in continued development and evaluation of internal controls and processes, in accordance with best practices.
- Supply information for inclusion in the statutory accounts.
- Prepare for and attend audit planning meetings, ensuring that audit issues are identified and appropriately discussed.
- Prepare and supervise preparation of audit working papers for the year end audit, including agreeing format of working papers and other audit requirements
- Identify and evaluate changes in GAAP and regulatory requirements and evaluate impact on financial statements presentation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical accounting procedures.
- Support Finance’s continuous improvement activity as required.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone who is highly analytical with good attention to detail, delivery orientated and able to produce quality output under tight deadlines. You will need to hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA), with advanced Excel skills and ideally Accounting Practice Trained in one of the top four tier firms. Experience of working within either the Telco or Utility sector would be advantageous.

This role would suit someone who has a collaborative approach, is able to challenge business stakeholders, develop strong relationships and can work independently to co-ordinate multiple priorities.
