We have an excellent opportunity for an Apprentice Vehicle Parts Advisor to join our multi franchised CARZ Dealership in Kirkcaldy and start their career in the automotive industry.

As an Apprentice Vehicle Parts Advisor, you will be you will be based within a parts department, involved in giving customer advice, ordering required parts, components or accessories and updating computer systems.

Your time will be spent in the dealership where you will get to learn practical skills from seeing a real working environment. You will be shadowed by a mentor or qualified members of staff so that you can learn first-hand how to undertake the role. Throughout the apprenticeship you will develop a good technical knowledge about different vehicle parts and what they do to assist customers with any questions they may have. You may be expected to lift heavy weights and carry out general housekeeping duties.

**What you will do**:
**Typical Day as Apprentice Mechanic at Peter Vardy**

You will be working on vehicles such cars or light commercial vehicles. Duties will include;
- Carrying out servicing
- Fault finding,
- Repair of vehicles
- Operating specialist equipment
- All other associated tasks

Training is not all hands on, we believe that learning to use a computer and understanding the theory behind the role is as important as using a spanner. You will attend college as part of this apprenticeship.

The successful applicant will be;
- Confident
- Self-motivated
- Keen to work as part of a team
- Have an interest in working in the automotive and engineering industries
- Inquisitive nature
- desire to fix things
- Must have 5 qualifications at National 5 level, these must include Maths, English and a Science. Predicted grades will be taken into consideration.

**Skills you will learn**
- On the job training will be carried out in the employer’s workshop alongside your workplace mentor.
- Off the job training will be typically one-week block release at college
- You will build portfolios to record training, experience and skills gained throughout your apprenticeship.
- You will be expected to self-study and with the combination of on the job and off the job training, you will be working towards the Modern Apprenticeship Framework standards for Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, including Core Skills
