**Loader Operative - AM SHIFT - £9.70 per hour + bonus + Overtime**

**Monday to Friday**

**45 hour contract**

**Biffa** is currently on the hunt for **loader Operatives**, the main purpose of this role is to remove all waste and or recycling as directed, and in accordance with the contract specification.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
Working as an individual or part of a team to collect waste/refuse in suitable containers.

To collect waste/refuse from the designated collection point and return container where necessary.

Ensure all waste/refuse not presented for collection at the designated collection point is recorded & reported as requested.

Ensure all requests for additional work and missed bins are completed and recorded upon request.

Ensure waste/refuse is loaded correctly and safely and all spillages are cleared up immediately.

To act as reversing assistant in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle, if required.

To assist the driver in carrying out and recording of routine maintenance, daily checks, defect reports and vehicle washing and interior.

To adhere to all Company safety rules & current legislation regarding, vehicle, sites, wearing of uniform and PPE issued.

To remain polite and respectful with all colleagues, members of the public and client representatives at all times.

To assist the Company in achieving its published Business Objectives and complying with all procedures in line with the ISO system.

Person Specification:
To be successful in this position you must be able to demonstrate:
Essential
- Fitness, health and mobility

Able to work flexible hours

Are a good-timekeeper

Have basic communication skills, including the written word

Able to work in adverse weather conditions

Desirable
- Local knowledge of area

Previous operational experience

Hold a valid UK driving licence

Be keen to undertake personal development

Pay attention to detail

Be a team-player

Be able to operate mechanical equipment, after instruction

Have a basic knowledge of Health & Safety and are able to follow health and safety procedures

Able to work with minimum supervision

Good customer service skills
