A member of the Purchasing and Inventory Team, responsible on purchasing various grade materials (mainly metals) & outsourced processing operations (such as machining & heat-treatment). The role involves working with existing suppliers, identifying new sources for materials / services, negotiation of price & terms, placement of purchase orders, controlling supplier performance / relationships. Reviewing and validating of Purchase requests through the forecast need system, ensuring best use of current stock before new buys. Adhering to best practices in line with Reliance policies.

**Main duties**
- Placing MRP requirements on a daily basis
- Review of foretasted purchase plans with nominated suppliers
- Manage purchase order acknowledgement and confirmation process
- Maintain accurate information in ERP system
- Produce and review supplier purchase order status reports
- Produce supplier Key Performance Indicators
- Managing supplier performance & relationships
- Provide technical and administrative support to the business for all materials purchasing
- Travel to suppliers & customers where required
- Reviewing FN requests daily, validating need and ensuring best use of current available stock across the group.
- Making suggestions on use of alternative stock, investigating reservations to make use of all available material
