Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a young person with a Learning Disability living in the East Kilbride area.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and accompanying him to participate in social activities as he wishes. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Supporting user to prepare meals and healthy snacks
- Walking, Cycling, swimming, gym and assisting with participation in these physical activities
- Supporting user with any voluntary commitment within the community
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living

Driver preferred and you will be required to use your own vehicle - mileage allowance will be paid. A willingness to also use public transport is also required, to encourage user’s independence.
- The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds._

Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

Favourite activities are swimming, basketball, theatre, horse riding, and socialising.

Pets in the household - you must be comfortable working with a cat etc. in the home.

Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**

Recruiting for 1

Guaranteed permanent position of 14 hours per week.

**Days and times**:
Set shifts at set times OR weekly rota

Typically - Monday 8.30 - 5.30, Tue, Wed, Thurs 4-5.30

Occasional weekends and evenings may be required - to be discussed at interview. Additional hours may be available during holiday periods.

**Hourly rate**:
£10.50 per hour
