It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021. The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

We currently have a vacancy for a **Senior Events Officer** to join our** Marketing, Campaigns & Engagement **team.

**The Role**:
Reporting into **Lead Communications and Marketing Officer (Internal Communications)** your key responsibilities will include:

- Create and drive forward the delivery of an annual programme of major events aimed at promoting the full breadth of the Mayoral Combined Authority’s agenda to regional, national and international audiences. This includes designing and developing events aligned to our strategic objectives, leading event stakeholder management, alongside identifying suitable event speakers.
- The role will oversee the coordination of the region’s approach for UK REiiFF, Convention of the North, West Yorkshire Innovation Festival and our International Women’s Day celebration and other events.
- The postholder will advise Directors and Senior Managers, elected members and board members on how best to maximise strategic and tactical event opportunities to achieve the organisation’s objectives.

**About You**:
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience
- Significant knowledge and experience of generating concepts for, designing, curating and driving forward delivery of compelling, creative and innovative high-profile events for target audiences
- Experience of managing a team of people
- A high degree of experience of negotiating costs and managing and monitoring significant event campaign budgets
