**Purpose of the post**:

- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- Cleaning streets, roads and open lands

**Responsibility for functions**:

- Responsibility for specialist vehicles / machines (LGV).

**Main duties**:

- Drive and be responsible for any specialist LGV vehicle/machine (Scarab Major / Johnston 600) including the compacting vehicle used. The duties will include carrying out daily inspections, oil and water level checks. Specialist driving skills are required, along with a requirement for associated information. This could include cleaning and operating any mechanical equipment attached to the plant.
- To carry out, as an individual or member of a team, relevant duties to clean, collect and dispose of refuse, leaves and weeds, etc. from open spaces (including roads, pavements and shopping centres). The duties will include the use and operation of ancillary equipment.
- Be aware of the requirements of Health and Safety Acts and work with the Directorate’s Health and Safety and Quality Assurance Officer to ensure that we comply with the relevant Health and Safety requirements.
- This is an illustrative list only. The post holder will be expected to be part of the process of managing and monitoring performance in accordance with the requirements of the post and to implement any other duties in accordance with the nature of the post and its scale, in accordance with the request of the Head of Service/Manager or the Strategic Director.

- This post is one that operates on a shift rota of 12.33 hours over 3 days.
