**ABOUT US**

In 1991, when Ministry of Sound opened in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of London, it was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially built dance box.

We went on to pioneer everything from compilation albums - becoming the world’s largest independent music company - to large scale dance music events - we put one on for 50,000 people at the Millennium Dome.

Almost thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a ground-breaking workspace with food and beverage, warm hospitality, wellness and thoughtful design at its core. It also incorporates a private hire business and a broad cultural and business events programme. Members work, exercise and socialise all in one place. The Ministry occupies a 50,000 sq ft Victorian warehouse in Borough, London SE1.

Our second site, at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush, London W12, will be more than twice the size and will include office space, wellness studios, a gym, event spaces and multiple food and beverage outlets, including a member’s deli bar, a public facing rooftop bar and restaurant, a juice bar and a fully functioning bakery.

It is scheduled to open in early 2024 and future openings will include larger mixed-use concepts in central London, with potential for international expansion. Ministry Venues sits across both nightclub and workspace businesses, delivering venue hire and event production services.

The group proudly operates an animal welfare charity in Thailand, Jai Dog Rescue, which is part funded by the group and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

In 2023 we will be launching a high-end luxury lifestyle brand, producing scented candles, diffusers and body care, the profits from which will go to our charity in Thailand.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Reporting to the Finance Director to provide and manage all financial processes and controls, accounting, compliance and data analysis across the organisation. This role will be seen as the ‘right-hand’ to the Finance Director and have Group-wide responsibilities such as managing audit, consolidation and compliance.

This role suits an individual with the technically excellent accounting and compliance knowledge and be able to see the bigger picture when making small decisions.

A key priority will be involvement for the launch of The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Supporting the FD by having responsibility for financial reporting and regulatory/tax compliance of all Group companies, including:

- Lead annual group audit
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Month end closing, reporting of consolidated management accounts and presenting to the board as well as holding businesses to account
- Cashflow reporting and treasury management, including short, medium and long term scenario planning
- Ensure weekly KPI reporting across all operating businesses is carried out in a timely fashion and to a high level
- Work with Head of FP&A to drive the development of new Power BI insights reporting to provide the businesses with real time operational information that can be used to continuously improve
- Oversee day to day accounting and processes, while managing team deadlines

Relentlessly identify process/business improvements and drive actions for change

Take a leading role in the new systems infrastructure

Manage and appraise all capex spend requests across all group entities

Manage reporting and accounting relating to shareholder debt

Manage banking relationship and debt facility obligations

Ensure accurate and timely reporting is provided to our external business partners regarding TM Shepherds Bush, in accordance with lease obligations

Review and sign off payroll

Working with other senior managers in the business to help drive and coordinate company growth, productivity and efficiencies

Reviewing and supporting staff development and following the relevant formal procedures such as probation reviews, one to ones and annual performance appraisals

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

Qualified accountant with a minimum of 4 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Technically excellent accounting standards knowledge

Strong leadership skills

Excellent Excel skills, knowledge of Power BI preferable

Able to influence at senior level

Ability to balance conflicting deadlines across a group that includes a number of different industries (Workspace, Events, Nightclub, Wellness)

A diplomat

Strong commercial acumen

Self-disciplined, can work independently

Extremely strong work ethic

Be able to foresee adverse consequences and suggest practical actions

The ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally

Immaculate eye for control weaknesses and solutions

Well organised, tenacious, hits deadlines

Must be analytical and have strong attention to detail

Experience managing teams of differing skillsets
