**About this role**:
Crystal Palace FC's Academy is seeking a skilled and passionate Gardener to join our team. As a Gardener, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the landscape surrounding our Academy facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensuring a visually appealing and well-maintained environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep the Academy grounds in excellent condition. This includes removing weeds and moss, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning trees and shrubs, and maintaining flower beds and plant pots, cleaning driveways and pathways.
- Implement an efficient watering schedule for plants, flowers, and turf areas. Monitor irrigation systems, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal growth and health of plants.
- Coordinate and execute seasonal planting and landscaping projects to enhance the beauty of the Academy grounds. Select appropriate plant species, flowers, and foliage that thrive in the local climate.
- Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain gardening equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order. Report any equipment issues or needs for repairs to the Facilities Manager.
- Always adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines. Identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to mitigate risks within the gardening area.
- Properly handle and dispose of green waste, leaves, and other gardening debris. Maintain clean and organized storage areas for gardening supplies and tools.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and other staff members to plan and execute gardening projects in alignment with the overall maintenance schedule and requirements of the Academy.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
- Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

**Experience, Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Gardener
- Familiarity with different plant species, flowers, and foliage suitable for local climates
- Have the ability to operate and maintain machinery/equipment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to gardening and grounds maintenance.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
