Our histopathology department, which transitioned to UKAS accreditation in 2017, is a major training centre with up to 9 trainees including a year two foundation post, and year 1-5 specialist trainees. There is a multidisciplinary molecular laboratory at UHCW, which provides testing for EGFR, KRAS, BRAF mutations. This is an exciting time to join our team as the department is planning to adopt next generation sequencing into routine practice by 2023.

**You will**:

- Provide a diagnostic consultation and advisory service to clinical colleagues in the Network and primary care
- Develop close collaborative links with clinicians working in their area of specialist expertise and work to develop services provided to patients in these areas to the highest standards including the adoption of best practice guidance, the development of diagnostic and treatment protocols and all other relevant guidelines
- Be required to interact with the clinicians and allied health professionals to provide pathological support and leadership required for the delivery of excellent services.
- Supervise trainee patologists working in the department and will asisst in their training and appraisal.
- Be encouraged to support reporting of any systemic cytology associated with their sub-specialty area(s) of interest. The post does not have a requirement for cervical screening cytology reporting.
- participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
