Systems Development Manager - Poole

A independent Financial Solutions technology vendor providing technology services to banks is seeking a systems development manager to head up their IT division.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes and make proposals to the Senior Management Team as appropriate
- Investigate and resolve Filemaker functionality related issues and provide third level support and troubleshooting of TestLink Inventory and Repair Management System and all other in-house developed systems
- Assist in managing outsource relationships for WEB development
- Attend contract and or customer reviews that require systems integration
- System updates, RPM, and fixes required for in-house and external use software
- Analyse data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions
- Run a continuous improvement policy, which enable all staff to contribute ideas and then implement structured initiatives
- Seek and implement improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, maintaining or improving quality, reducing waste and cost
- Ensure that the company's quality and environmental policies are adhered to and promoted
- Write technical documentation e.g. user guides
- Provide key KPI's to the Senior Management Team via the MMM reporting pack
- Manage the System Change Requests in-line with Senior Management Team prioritisation
- Management of direct reports including
- HR requirements - performance management, 121s, disciplinary, time & attendance.
- Task setting & monitoring in line with department responsibilities & strategic objectives
- Mentoring and developing to achieve milestones as identified in reviews or appraisals
- Program development time and ensure projects/system change requests are delivered on time and to the specification agreed
- Cover for the IT Systems & Support manager during periods of absence and supporting their direct reports
- Coordinate on-call schedule within the team to cover primary needs to cover support for any business hours

Experience
- A proven track record of developing complex relational databases solutions within a manufacturing or service support industry
- Direct experience of web and client-server concepts
- Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish time dependent projects
- Experience of leadership, training and mentoring of junior developers
- Degree qualified in systems development or able to demonstrate relevant experience
- Analytical with a structured and logical approach to problem solving, with strong organisational skills
- General knowledge of IT Systems and Networks including AZURE and FileMaker
- Leadership and management skills
- Excellent outgoing communicator with good written and verbal skills
