**MPLS Innovation & Partnerships Communications Officer**

Grade 7: £34,308 - £46,047 per annum (pro rata)

**The Role**

**This role reports to the MPLS Communications Lead, with additional guidance and supervision from the Communications & Events Manager at Begbroke Science Park and plenty of scope for initiative and ideas. Whilst primarily based at the University's rapidly expanding science park in the countryside just north of Oxford, you will be an integral part of the small, friendly Divisional Communications team based at 9 Parks Road, Oxford.**:
**You will be responsible for managing and maintaining a professional and engaging social media presence (focusing on Twitter) for MPLS Division — in line with divisional communications objectives across education, research, innovation and business partnerships, people, and the MPLS estate — and providing effective communications support for the Division’s Innovation & Business Partnerships activity.**:
Principal responsibilities are to support the management team at Begbroke Science Park to establish and maintain a positive presence for the Science Park, across and beyond the University, and an effective internal communications strategy that nurtures a positive sense of community for the academic and non-academic staff, research students, and commercial innovation tenants based on site. This will involve harnessing a range of communications channels to produce professional content tailored to different audiences, including businesses, entrepreneurs, senior academics and researchers, students, professional services colleagues at all levels, and a range of other external stakeholders.

**You will help to develop a communications strategy for Begbroke Science Park and identify opportunities to engage target audiences (both internal and external) with the story of innovation and external engagement across MPLS Division, working with the Divisional Communications team and Begbroke’s management team. You will play a key part in communicating the scientific research, technology and innovation coming out of Begbroke Science Park, and high-profile industrial and business partnerships involving MPLS researchers and departments.**:
**You will also play an important role in connecting Begbroke Science Park to innovation and partnerships activity across the University and communicating the development of the proposed innovation districts around both Begbroke Science Park and, in future, Osney Mead to the west of central Oxford, working with colleagues in Estates Services. As the role develops, it is envisaged that the balance of responsibilities may shift more towards supporting these emerging innovation districts and working with key stakeholders such as Oxford University Development (the joint venture partnership between Legal & General and the University of Oxford).**:
