TRIP are working with one of the oldest retailers in the UK for an exciting new position based out of their showroom and Head Offices in Dumfries.
This unique role of Furniture Buyer/Furniture Retail Manager will see the successful applicant have previous experience as a Retail Manager and will be working directly with the owner of the highly respected family run business bringing fresh ideas and ?futureproofing? the furniture arm of this luxury multiproduct brand.
**What you?ll be doing**
As a Furniture Buyer and Retail Manager you will be responsible for the development and Management of the furniture offer and strategy
- Constantly analysing market demand and competition to imagine and build the best furniture offer, with a focus on projects with the highest potential success rate in terms of matching market demand and creating new trends to deliver sales and profit toagreed targets.
- Work with the Managing Director, to set up ambitious targets and develop long, mid, and short terms strategies to identify, design and develop, source and release best-selling furniture.
- Follow up the performance of your collections and new releases to adapt the structure of the catalogue and redefine very quickly the design and sourcing strategies.
**Sourcing and Suppliers Management**
- Liaising with the existing network of supplier?s, negotiating contracts, and working with them on a daily basis to keep developing new product ranges.
- Taking an active part in sourcing and building relationships with new suppliers and ensuring the business partners directly with the right manufacturers, without the need of agents or traders, and with a key focus on pricing, quality of manufacturing andquality of service.
- Being responsible for monitoring the suppliers? progress, negotiating the best possible prices in line with in-store quality standards.
**Retail Management**
- You will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the showroom
- Leading a happy, motivated, and empowered retail team to reach their goals
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed
- Accuracy in sales records, payments, and stock reports.
**What you?ll need**
- Commercial acumen and a passion for the sector and its products
- Extensive and broad knowledge on the furniture market with strong technical skills and understanding of product engineering and manufacturing
- Perfect knowledge of all Furniture related regulations, including market specific ones, and high understanding of contract business constraints
- An understanding of what motivates customers
- Extensive past experience in Direct buying roles, Product development and Category management
- Confidence combined with negotiating, influencing and networking skills
- Exceptional team working and leadership skills
- Creativity and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make major decisions
- Experienced in coaching and managing successful sales teams with an in-depth customer focused, luxury furniture retail background
