We are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative (PI & Stores Development) based in our distribution centre at Preston.

Performs a variety of distribution centre activities related to one or more of the following processes: packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfilment, stock handling, storing, distribution and inventory support. Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands.

Accountabilities:

- Integration of new product receipts into the existing pick face: _Update weights and measures, Locations, and pick bin type, min max and drop data Etc., whilst ensuring provision of an efficient warehousing operation_.
- Maintaining pick face profile to reduce the mezzanine picks as a percentage against total volumes: _Moving obsolete products onto Mezz and bringing fast selling products down into the Main picking zone as appropriate_.
- To redefine picking locations which become inadequate and locate missing pick bins: _Working through the bin too small and missing bin list re-calculating new bin maxes etc._
- To maintain existing pick faces to the required standard: _Maintain allocated area, working with housekeeping of the area and the up keep of the hot pick loop._
- To remove old pick locations no longer required: _following the procedure for processing discontinued stock using the NL stocked report whilst also maintaining the hot picks loop_.
- To assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary: _Provide help when instructed to help maintain high levels of service to our customers._
- To undertake minor maintenance tasks: _e.g. shelving installations Etc_.
- To undertake ad hoc project work at the request of the Operations Managers.
- Department maintenance using Orbit, Excel, Word, Outlook and IBM i series navigator: _The production of signs labels and picking instructions, along with reports Etc. to perform department role._
- To assist with the continual improvements within the warehouse operations and development of the Operations Team: _Communicating with management and colleagues across all departments, assisting in the training and development of individuals within the department, meeting any specific targets and standards which are set within the scope of the role._
