**The Health Physics Monitor **will work as part of a shift team, supporting the business unit by maintaining a radiological protection service, providing specialised monitoring support, and offering operational health physics advice.

**What you will be doing**:
You will be performing radiation and contamination surveys ;
- Undertaking workplace monitoring for radiological hazards (radiation, and surface and airborne contamination), and keep accurate records of monitoring undertaken.
- Carrying out radiological monitoring equipment calibrations and daily checks prior to use.
- Supporting environmental permitting compliance activities such as liquid and gaseous effluent analysis, and waste monitoring.

Training is provided to fulfil First Aider and RPS roles

- Practical experience in radiation and contamination monitoring is essential.
- A formal qualification such as the NVQ Level 2 in Radiation Protection OR City and Guilds Radiation Safety Practice Stage 1 is desirable.
