Band 1, Points 1-3 (£20,258 - £20,812) pro-rata (£17,347-£17,821)

Full time, 36.25 hours per week, Term Time only plus 5 INSET days (39 weeks pa)

Due to the forthcoming expansion of our School from 2-form entry to 3-form entry, and the creation of a new small specialist class (SSC) for KS1 children, the Governors seek to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside our hardworking support and teaching staff in this new provision for a maximum of 10 Year 1 and Year 2 children.
- Be an excellent Teaching Assistant with experience in EYFS/KS1 (preferred) or KS2 and SEND
- Be someone with a positive and caring outlook, who understands the physical and emotional needs of young children
- Supervise and provide learning support for pupils with SEN
- Assist with the development of individual educational needs
- Follow lesson plans and deliver 1:1/small group interventions
- Be able to work as part of a happy team
- Have a caring, positive attitude
- Have recent successful experience in a primary school with SEN experience
- Possess excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Have high expectations of pupils’ achievement
- Have vision, enthusiasm and a good sense of humour
- Possess good communication skills
- Have an ability to work in partnership with pupils, parents, staff and governors
- Encourage pupils’ confidence and independence
- Provide regular feedback and assistance to teachers and pupils
- Prepare resources required for learning activities and assist pupils in their use
- Support pupils in extra-curricular activities where necessary
