**About the Role**

**Base Location**: Flexible UK, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key sites, which includes but is not limited to: Reading, Liverpool, M4 Corridor & Midlands.

**Salary**: Up to £48,800 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

**Working Pattern**: Full Time and Flexible First options available

The Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) will act as the Project Managers representative and SSE Renewable’s: Onshore Solar and Battery (SSER: S&B) point of contact at site, enacting the role of the Supervisor under NEC3 & 4, FIDIC Silver and Yellow Contracts.

The CSS role is responsible for ensuring that the site-based construction activities across SSER: S&B are safely and efficiently managed in accordance with both legislation (HASAW, CDM, etc.) and SSER policies, procedures, and standards applicable to the works.

Key accountabilities may include:

- leading by example on all Site matters SHEW+Q related. Creating, driving, and maintaining a positive engagement of SSE’s SHEW+Q culture throughout the team and into the portfolio of projects that are in the construction element of the asset lifecycle. Instil the values of the “Safety Family” within the team.
- Ensuring that a system is in place for ensuring all Contractors are set to work and managed in line with SSE’s Safety Management System.
- Providing input to, review and comment on the deliverability of the Primary Contractor Site Delivery Programmes and proactively monitor all activities, promptly advising the Project Manager of any programme risks.
- Chairing regular Site Progress Meetings with all SSE Contractors and issue minutes of these meetings, a file of these to maintain on site.
- Maintaining and developing technical expertise and knowledge in the areas of High Voltage Renewable Generation and Storage technologies, particularly Battery and Solar
- Issuing written site instructions following agreement from the Project Manager and authenticating any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor. (Familiarity with standard contract terms and conditions i.e. FIDIC, BEAMA and NEC is desirable).
- Inspecting, approving, or rejecting materials and workmanship. Ensuring the Balance of Plant (BoP) and Integrator contractors have Quality Plan’s and suitable Inspection and Test Plan in place.

**What do I need?**

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Basic Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and energisation.
- Awareness of Contract management within fixed price and target cost contracts
- Previous experience of project site management or clerk of works capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment
- A strong understanding of SHEW construction requirements/legislation such as CDM, LOLER, PUWER, HSG45
- Demonstrable experience of working under commercial contract frameworks such as NEC3/4 DOM2 etc.
- Health and safety - SSSTS (minimum), SMSTS / IOSH accreditation (working towards), Persons and NEBOSH (ideal but not essential)
- Knowledge and understanding of EHV and HV grid connections is desirable
