We are looking for a driver with a clean driving license, who is trustworthy and reliable and enjoys driving and working as part of a team. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacy Technician.

The post-holder will be based at the dedicated pharmacy department at HMP Rochester.
- To deliver medicines from the HMP Pharmacy Rochester to the Kent and Medway prisons on scheduled deliveries
- Collect signatures from authorised personnel for deliveries
- Ensure the safe custody of medicines whilst in transit

Oxleas Prison Services Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and provides the pharmacy services to the prison pharmacy contracts. The prison pharmacy services have a reputation of innovation, with established prescribing guidelines, excellent relationships with medical staff and a desire to improve services in prisons. Our drivers support the pharmacy services by making scheduled and timely deliveries to the prisons within our pharmacy contracts throughout Kent and Greenwich.

1. To deliver medicines across the Kent and Medway prison estate as directed by the HMP Rochester Pharmacy.
2. To ensure deliveries are signed for by appropriately authorised personnel within the prisons and to return signature records to the pharmacy for storage.
3. To ensure all transit bags/boxes are sealed/locked prior to leaving the pharmacy department and are delivered intact to the correct destination in a timely manner.
4. To ensure all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are read and adhered to.
5. To follow the designated delivery route and communicate with prisons if there are unforeseen delays.
6. To ensure the pharmacy vans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
7. To follow agreed procedures to address mechanical faults, motor accidents or signs indicating the requirement for mechanical repair/maintenance outside the agreed scheduled maintenance program. To inform the Senior Technician Prison Services once these actions are complete.
8. To ensure vans are safely parked, always locked when not attended and the contents are kept secure through out the delivery routes.
9. To be responsible for the completion of safety checks/records at the beginning and end of each shift to comply with road safety legislation.
10. To adhere to all documentation relating to the vans including manuals, SOPs etc. and to ensure all Oxleas’ policies and procedures are adhered to.
11. To work with technical developments, as required, including satellite tracking systems and messaging services to enable live transmission of driver progress and analysis of associated data.
12. To comply with all current transport legislation and adhere to the UK highway code.
