Coffee Box Staff

This is a multi-faceted role which would consist of working in a large fast-paced coffee shop making barista coffees and serving customers, or in a modern professional catering kitchen making sandwiches/cakes to supply Coffee Box, as well as preparing for large buffets required by events held at the Hastings Centre, working on the licensed bar at Hastings Centre events. This is a not an exhaustive list and will include all regular duties working within a coffee shop, a conference centre and a kitchen. We are looking a hardworking, enthusiastic person who has a passion for delivering excellence in what they do.

£10.90 per hour.
The closing date is midday 11 April 23.

Person Specification:

- Honest, reliable, hardworking with the ability to work under pressure
- Cheerful with excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge/experience of working within a coffee shop/hospitality/catering industry
- Able to follow instructions from and work in harmony with, management and colleagues as appropriate
- Flexible in attitude and approach to work and methods of work
- Take pride in appearance, adhering to Coffee Box/Hastings Centre dress code
- Make every effort to improve job skills and knowledge and be open to training
- This is an active position which requires a relatively high level of mobility and fitness
- Over 18 years of age.
- Full driving licence with own car would be preferable.

Job Outline:

- Prepare and cook food in catering kitchen
- Make barista style hot/cold drinks
- Serve customers at Coffee Box
- Prepare/serve hot/cold food at events within the Hastings Centre
- Serve on licensed bar events
- Clear, clean and keep general tidiness in all areas of work
- Money handling and use of electronic till, cashing up with appropriate record keeping
- Display excellent customer service
- Assist with ordering, receiving, storing and rotation of stock, keeping accurate records
- Ensure that high levels of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in all working areas
- Assist with any other duties that may be requested of you by the Coffee Box Manager

Some flexibility over hours will be necessary. Although this role is generally during daytime hours, it will include weekend and evening work to serve the needs of the business as required.
