Sefton, United Kingdom The Salesian Academy of St John Bosco Full time

The newly appointed Pastoral Leader will play a vital role in delivering our vision of securing the very best standards of pastoral care and teaching and learning so that pupils, regardless of their background, abilities or specific learning needs, remain healthy, successfully complete their formal education, and are able to make positive contributions towards society. This is a permanent post working alongside the Pastoral Team, your role will be to create and maintain high standards and aspirations, underpinned by our Salesian and Gospel values and to secure outstanding outcomes.

There is a new ambition for The Salesian Academy of St John Bosco, driven by the strong partnership that exists between Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust and the Salesians. This ambition, alongside the build of a new school in 2025, will provide an exciting environment, including a full suite of new computing laboratories, for pupils and staff alike to develop their many talents and pursue academic and personal excellence.

The Salesian Academy of St John Bosco in Bootle is a Catholic school that has a long and proud history serving the local community. Up until last year the school was called Savio Salesian Academy and its future was uncertain as the school was faced with Inadequate Ofsted judgements, low outcomes, falling rolls and a building that was not fit for purpose. **This has now changed**. The school is having a multi-million pound investment from the DFE and pupils will move into a brand new school in 2025, the number on roll is increasing (20% growth in the last year) and the school is part of the Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust. The future is exciting and the vision is one which is transformative; our academy serves an area of high social deprivation and we want our school to have the highest aspirations and outcomes not only as a beacon of excellence for our pupils but also as a hub at the heart of our community.

Whilst the academy is now part of the Pope Francis Catholic MAT we very much value the heritage and individuality of each school. The school is inspired by the teachings of St John Bosco, an Italian priest and educator who believed in the importance of education, hard work and a positive attitude in helping young people to reach their full potential.

The school's vision is to create a learning environment that is rooted in the Catholic faith and values, and that promotes a culture of excellence, respect and service. The school aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed in life, both academically and personally. At the same time we encourage respect, responsibility, honesty, kindness, and compassion. The Salesian Academy of St John Bosco in Bootle is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, regardless of their background or abilities. The school works closely with families and the wider community to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
