**About the Department**

International recruitment is within the Communications, Marketing and Recruitment (CMR). The department plays a central role in telling the Goldsmiths story to our key audiences.

The CMR directorate covers internal communications, media relations, strategic communications, brand and design, digital (website, video and social media), marketing, business partnering, and UK and International recruitment.

We aim to ensure academic departments and professional service teams are supported by experts who understand their needs and priorities, whilst playing our part in the delivery of an excellent student, colleague and external audience experience.

**About the role**

Working within Goldsmiths International Recruitment and Global Opportunities Team, this role will be responsible for: coordinating of Goldsmiths’ participation in the Turing Scheme and for the development of wider international opportunities for students at the college. The team comprises (in addition to the Global Opportunities Officer role) a Global Opportunities Manager and the Global Opportunities Coordinator. The activity is further supported by a number of Student Ambassadors who assist on an ad hoc basis.

**Generic duties**:
To promote the activity of the Student Recruitment department by working across SED, professional service departments, academic departments, the Students’ Union, and external stakeholders Contribute to the ongoing planning and implementation of excellent services for the enhancement of the student experience at Goldsmiths

Be committed to personal professional development, to ensure highest quality of service to students
Contribute to excellent communication between the International Recruitment and Global Opportunities team and other Student Recruitment teams
Contribute to team work to ensure business continuity within the team following the failure of, or damage to, vital services or facilities
To support and contribute to the delivery of SED frontline services including attendance at events such as, Open Days, Graduation Ceremonies, Corporate Events

**Specific duties**:
Provide operational and administrative support for Goldsmiths Turing scheme and Santander “go abroad” activity, in order to achieve the targets set for outward student mobility in Goldsmiths’ International Mobility Strategy.

This will include:Overseeing all outbound student mobility at Goldsmiths (including the Turing Scheme and Santander funded summer opportunities). This will include recruitment of students, pre departure preparation, support, paperwork and grant payments to students.

Maintaining the university’s participation in the Turing scheme, through coordinating inter-institutional agreements and developing relationships with Turing partner institutions.

Contributing to the development and submission of external funding bids to maximise income and increase the volume of opportunities for Goldsmiths students.

Assist with budget monitoring and reporting for Turing scheme activities

Work collaboratively with the Global Opportunities Coordinator and the Careers Service to promote opportunities to study and work abroad to students, providing advice and guidance to those wishing to take part in Turing scheme and other mobility opportunities

Support the welfare of incoming and outgoing students by contributing to the design and delivery of pre-departure, student orientation and induction activities

To undertake programme monitoring and evaluation, integrating participant feedback into the ongoing design and delivery of the programmes, and support the Global Opportunities Manager to develop international outward student mobility opportunities beyond the Turing scheme

Attend where necessary regional or national conferences, seeking to extend opportunities for deeper engagement and collaborative links for Goldsmiths; and attend relevant training courses and seminars as required

Initiate and develop good relationships with British Council offices, UUKi, Capita, Embassies and Consulates, The International Mobility Unit and the European Commissions
