**Manufacturing Engineer (Tubing)

**This role will focus on**:
Working closely with the Manager and Team Leaders within the tubing value stream, you will be the first point of contact for manufacturing equipment and fixture design. Ensuring required quality processes and procedures are supported by any proposed introduction or improvement, you will also be responsible for the development of manufacturing processes used to assemble tubing elements, providing high quality tube from the extrusion process to our customers and working with the global engineering team and process engineers to ensure product conformity throughout its production life cycle.
In collaboration with the global engineering team, you will support the design and manufacture of new components, establishing best practice development. You will also work closely with the quality team to approve new parts, along with the manufacturing shop floor for processes and component development.**What you'll be doing**
- Supporting the introduction and development of extruded components from various materials in support of the WMFTS assembly area and direct sales to customers globally
- Working closely with the Quality department, you will ensure that new products can be produced accurately, in accordance with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- You'll provide optimised production processes, including standardised tooling and setting approaches.
- You will champion Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the tubing value stream, working closely with Team Leaders to development and implement new ideas.
- Provide expertise to the New Product Innovation team.
- You will assist with the definition and justification of new equipment and provide project implementation support.
- Utilising your manufacturing experience, you will support the development of apprentices and more junior colleges.
- As a safety ambassador you will champion safety best practice, support our Behaviours Based Safety programme, and report EHS concerns accordingly.
- Support and drive 5S activities across the Tubing value stream, ensuring the work space is efficient.
- Work with the Tubing value stream team to define, produce and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- You will support the Quality team when investigating Root Cause and Corrective Actions
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- Experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing and/or engineering environment
- Experience working in a extrusion environment is highly advantageous
- A related Engineering qualification HNC or HND and/or qualified by experience.
- Medical device background would be an advantage but not essential
- CAD/CAM experience in the design of new components and fixtures. - Desirable.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principals.
- Experience of 5S processes.
