The Communities Service are looking to recruit a part-time, permanent, Adult Literacies Worker to develop and deliver English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) and learner centred programmes for Adults and Community learning. This post will require the person to work across the Perth City area, and their base will be Letham Community Learning Centre.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

- Deliver ESOL language classes
- Deliver Adult literacy classes
- Deliver in a variety of different locations across Perth City including online
- Engage with a wide range of people and stakeholders
- Supervise and support volunteers
- Support collaborative and partnership working
- Build relationships with individuals, groups including community groups, local staff and partners to support engagement and learning
- Support the team in peer self-evaluation across Community Learning and Development (CLD) services with partners and communities
- Contribute to local and community planning in relation to CLD and local outcomes

You will hold a qualification in Teaching English to speakers of other languages. You will demonstrate a commitment to learning, improvement and innovation by proactively seeking out opportunities for personal development. You will demonstrate a flexible approach to change; challenge the status quo to bring about change and embrace new ways of working. You will demonstrate initiative and take responsibility for decisions to achieve results.

You will demonstrate enthusiasm with a desire to make a difference, empowering and supporting your team to initiate improvements to services, valuing everyone’s contribution and inspiring confidence in others.
