**How will you make an impact?**

The Formulation Scientist will be responsible for Formulation, Process Development and Scale up of oral solid dose products. They may also be required to support the Clinical Trial manufacturing of these products. Solid formulation processing and or pre-formulation is preferred.

The formulation scientist will also be expected to interact with the client either face to face or through telecoms. It is crucial that they have good interpersonal skills.

Good lab practices are essential to ensure that the data that is being obtained is of the quality required to make sure the product is developed to the highest quality. Previous laboratory working is preferred.

Knowledge of pre-fromulation kit and Manufacturing equipment trains for oral solid dose is preferred.

**What will you do?**
- Follow GMP requirements and company rules, policies and procedures
- PDS and site EH&S procedures. GLP and GMP procedures. PDS Non Sterile development standards and guidelines. Client support and service expectations. Formulation work plans Patheon business expectations. Project scope.
- Carry out pre-formulation studies on client drug substances.
- Develop formulations and processes suitable for the following development stages, Phase I feasibility / stability studies and clinical trials, Phase II feasibility / stability studies and clinical trials & Technology transfer and QbD supporting studies
- Manufacture batches to support the above development stages in the formulation lab or clinical trials manufacturing area.
- Assist the technical project leads in the transfer of formulations and processes from a client to PDS and from PDS to other sites as required.
- Prepare and complete technical documentations to support the development stage activities
- Participate in client meetings, either face to face or in telecoms.
- Organise rooms, materials, processing equipment, testing equipment and safety equipment as required for development studies.
- Ensure that all areas and equipment are maintained in suitable operational state whilst in use and area and equipment are cleaned in a timely manner on completion.
- Undertake equipment and area maintenance / support tasks.
- Assist in preparations for GMP/GLP and safety audits.
- Update technical awareness (material and equipment) as required for client business.
- Undertake specific improvement projects
- Write new SOP’s for equipment or update existing SOP’s as required in terms of current operational, EH&S, GLP and GMP standards. This will require the support of an experienced scientist.
- Data check lab books, reports and other technical documentation, as required.

**How will you get here?**
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Chemistry or Bio-pharmaceutical type industry. Amount of experience required is dependent on level of qualification held, approx 1+ years for degree level.

- To effectively communicate at all levels, internally and externally, adopting a professional approach.
