Manpower are currently supporting an innovative food company in their search for a Buyer to join the existing team in Bradford.

You will be joining a company with a high level of attrition and some of the benefits you would receive include family private healthcare, cash plan, 25 days holiday, 10% bonus, cycle to work scheme and pension.

I am looking for a good level of working experience on Excel, ideally intermediate.

You will work alongside your team members on different categories including fresh /frozen/ambient.
- Negotiation with suppliers and delivery of cost reductions where possible
- Ensure all agreed & contracted prices are aligned with expectations
- Review supplier performance and service level agreements (SLA)
- Oversee supplier related administration issues including invoice disputes and any claims or penalties
- Create strong relationships with all suppliers
- Source new suppliers
- Develop purchasing strategies in relation to new product development
- Oversee stock ordering and control of stock levels
Make sure suppliers are approved in key areas

You will already have experience of working in a food buying capacity and have proven purchasing strategies plus the following attributes/experience;
Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages

Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Good communicator, written & verbal
Analytical
Calm under pressure
