Responsibilities:
We are looking for self-motivated people who have personal lived experience supporting BME families. The successful applicant will need to fluently speak at least one of these languages as well as English, Rwandese, Luganda or Swahili and preferably other languages. A car driver with access to their own transport is desirable.

Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with Black and Minority Ethnic Communities; an understanding of the legislative and cultural issues surrounding BME people living in our arears of operation.

Posts occasionally involves unsocial hours including evenings and weekends.

Appointment will be dependent on references and eligibility to work compliant with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and, where applicable, a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check.

In light of the nature of this role, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the role is undertaken by a black, Asian and/or minority ethnic person (in accordance with Para1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010)
