**Job summary**:

- At FCDO Services we protect the UK’s interests around the world by providing secure construction, digital and logistics services to many Government customers. Our work is varied and wide-ranging: everything from making earthquake repairs to designing a new IT system. We do vital work every day.
- Sensitivity Review of Government records is a key part of that work. From global diplomacy to digital security, the work of the Government is complex and sensitive - and so are the corresponding historical records. As a Sensitivity Reviewer you will decide whether files should be preserved for the public record at The National Archives and you will identify sensitive content that needs to be withheld, all in accordance with current legislation.-
**Job description**:

- You have an excellent eye for detail. In a report you’ll be able to spot the one sentence that is sensitive. You are efficient, thorough, and bring the highest level of commitment to providing an impeccable service for our customers.
- Your decisions contribute to the public record and maintain national security.
- It is an exciting time to join us as we develop a ground-breaking digital review system to deal with the rapidly increasing volume of digital records which began in the early Nineties. We are also beginning to review digital records for other Government Departments. You will work with digital and paper records and contribute to the ongoing development of the Sensitivity Review Service.
- Having ideally worked in HM Diplomatic Service, for another Government Department or for an international institution like the EU or the UN, you will have practical experience of navigating the subtleties of cultural difference and an understanding of how Governments and international organisations ‘operate’.
- You may be looking for your next challenge within Government or public service or you may have transferrable skills from your career. Whatever your background you will have valuable experience and expertise to offer.- Sensitivity Reviewers are graded FCDO Services D6 (equivalent to Civil Service Grade 7).
- It takes a diverse team to protect a diverse world. The vital work we do takes an incredible community of colleagues, with different skills, backgrounds, cultures and identities. We support every individual, so that you always know you’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer. And Employers for Carers. And it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.
- Hanslope Park based posts attract a Location Allowance of £1,750 per annum.
- FCDO Services are regulated by the Civil Service Commission.**Person specification**:
