We are looking to recruit two Sterilisation and Decontamination Supervisors at Ipswich Hospital. In this role you will join the departments’ group of team leaders looking after the busy, fast moving Endoscopy Reprocessing and Sterile Services Department.

You will assist in providing a complete Decontamination service, including the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes. Previous experience in a decontamination service is desired. In-Job training will be provided by the current team leaders for a smooth transition.

Both of these posts are full time 37.5 hrs per week.

**First Vacancy days / hours**: Sunday 0800-2100 Monday & Tuesday 1700-0600

**Second Vacancy days and hours**: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 1700-0600

There will be opportunities for you to develop your current skills and attend further training.

You will be joining and supervising a busy Endoscopy Reprocessing and Sterile Services team.

Your new role would be to communicate and supervise enquires from users, and other members of healthcare staff in a polite and helpful manner, seeking scientific advice from Senior Decontamination Supervisors where required.

To supervise, organise and allocate work and /or train less experienced/qualified staff.

You will be expected to use knowledge and skills when making decisions with regard to non-conformances.

You will assist the Decontamination Operational Manager by supervising, organising and allocating work to your team and training members of
staff.

To monitor stocks of raw materials as requested and to take appropriate action on any deficiencies, assist in the evaluation of new products.

You will attend the weekly team leader meeting and bimonthly staff meetings.

You will complete daily departmental checks, including consumable stock levels, complete shift handovers.

You will liaise with service users and service providers to help ensure a smooth running of the department, therefore effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels is a must.
