**Senior Quantity Surveyor**

Derby

Senior Quantity Surveyor needed for a leading contractor based in Derby who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Senior Quantity Surveyor that takes pride in their work with experience on similar infrastructure or civil projects.

**What the role entails**:
Some of the main duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:

- Review and negotiate conditions of contracts and warranties
- Administer contracts
- Advise operations staff within the team regarding commercial and contractual issues
- Prepare commercial and contractual correspondence
- Prepare internal valuations and financial reports
- Prepare external valuations
- Negotiation and administration of Sub-Contracts and pay Sub-Contractors
- Identify and prepare claims
- Negotiate settlements of accounts
- Review costs against budget and manage accrual

**What experience you need to be the successful**Senior Quantity Surveyor**:

- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
- Extensive experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of construction contracts and law
- Confident in using NEC suite of contract
- Commercial awareness
- Good communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- A general appreciation of design, tendering, and construction processes
- Analytical thinking
