**Fixed term for 33 months, full time**
- This is an exciting opportunity to work with East Marsh United (EMU), and the University of Huddersfield, to develop EMU as an ethical landlord, and to achieve the purchase and refurbishment of 100 homes for 100 years on the East Marsh. This innovative collaboration is funded by Innovate UK through the acclaimed Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme.

The Project Lead for Community Voice and Healthy Housing (KTP Associate) will be responsible for researching and co-creating plans for healthy housing, and will develop partnerships with local people, listening to foregrounding local voices through multi-modal approaches to participation and empowerment. This is an opportunity for someone with ambition, drive, and a caring attitude to research, develop, and deliver effective healthy housing solutions for local people and families. This post will shape EMU’s approach to being an ethical landlord, informed by evidence and learning from the project. Working alongside EMU staff and volunteers, the local community, and other stakeholders, the Project Lead will transfer and embed knowledge, evidence-based outcomes measures, and culture change across EMU.

The Organisation
- EMU was founded in 2017 in response to county-lines drug gangs operating within our streets. We are taking a lead on community wealth building and reimagining the East Marsh area of Grimsby as an urban village. In response to the poor condition of housing in our community, and as an ethical community landlord, we are working to secure and manage good quality affordable homes. Our activities focus on the purchase and provision of houses and ensuring our tenants' homes are nice places to live. We currently have over 10 houses in management and are becoming investment-ready to purchase more over the period of the KTP, with ambitions for 100 houses by 2030. This will provide regular rental income to ensure the sustainability of our core operations.

The Role
- The Project Lead for Community Voice and Healthy Housing (KTP Associate) will focus on supporting EMU to become an ethical landlord, acquiring, and managing 100 quality homes for 100 years. At the centre of increasing our housing stock, rental income, and sustainability, is community participation, protection, partnership, and agency. You will develop and lead a strategy that is based upon these concepts and will work with people from the ground up, scaffolding the strengths of the community, and delivering mutual benefit through co-creation approaches. Understanding the regulatory landscape around social housing frameworks will be a challenge for you to overcome. It will be necessary to develop relationships with the EMU team, the community, and stakeholders, investing time in getting to know the organisation, its operational habits, and the broader community. You will develop an understanding of the local landscape, in terms of EMU's current operating procedures, strategy, the legal and policy framework, history, and culture, and ensure buy-in from the EMU team. Relationship building in the local community is essential, and high-level skills and competence are required in working ethically to ensure partnership, protection, and participation with all stakeholders. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals, while having access to the University’s platforms, expertise, and resources.
