Seaford College is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and **qualified Instructor of Outdoor Education**. **Seaford College** is set in the South Downs National Park and enjoys an unrivalled site that naturally lends itself to Outdoor Education. The school runs an active and varied Outdoor Education Programme, and in recent years has invested significantly in equipment and facilities. The school continues to look at further opportunities for developing the outdoor provision available on site.

The role has wide ranging responsibilities within the Outdoor Education department at Seaford College, including Forest School, Outdoor Education Carousels, Outdoor Pursuits (listed in the Outdoor Programme below), the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and the Combined Cadet Force. With the opportunity to also be involved in other aspects of School life, such as duties and supporting the boarding community. This position will be considered on a full time or part time basis.

In addition, the post holder is responsible for the coordination, integration, and development of the various outdoor activities they deliver. This includes Child Protection, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, budgeting, and development planning. **INSTRUCTOR OF OUTDOOR EDUCATION (JUN24)**

**PURPOSE**: The Instructor of Outdoor Education has wide ranging responsibilities within the Outdoor Education department at Seaford College, including Forest School, Outdoor Education Carousels, Outdoor Pursuits (listed in the Outdoor Programme below), the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and the Combined Cadet Force. With the opportunity to also be involved in other aspects of School life, such as duties and supporting the boarding community.

In addition, the post holder is responsible for the coordination, integration, and development of the various outdoor activities they deliver. The postholder will be required to successfully and effectively deliver part of the outdoor education programme at Seaford. More specifically, but not exhaustively, the role will include the following duties and responsibilities:
Outdoor Programme (Games lessons, Activities and Weekend programme)
- Contribute to the successful outdoor activities programme across Prep School, Senior School and the Sixth Form
- Contribute to the weekly Saturday (and occasional Sunday) activity programme, managing groups and administration
- Contribute to the Tuesday and Thursday Games programme by contributing to the alternative outdoor programme
- Contribute to the running of climbing activities on the school climbing wall

Duke of Edinburgh - Bronze Award Coordinator
- Support in the delivery of the school DofE programme as a Group Leader as appropriate

**Forest School**
- To aid in the delivery of timetabled lessons of Forest School

**Bushcraft**
- To aid in the delivery of elements of the Bush-craft activities in the Prep

CCF
- Lead on providing advice and guidance to the Contingent Commander for the planning of non-uniformed Adventurous Training (AT)activities, as well as delivering AT activities during CCF parade afternoons
- Plan and deliver the annual Adventurous Training Camp
- Desirable (dependent on experience) - lead as the CCF Range Conducting Officer
- Desirable (dependent on experience) - support as an Exercise Conducting Officer
- To attend training courses recommended by the Contingent Commander as part of a progressive programme of CPD
- Contribute to the equipment care process within the CCF stores
