Spring Hill School is situated in the outskirts of Ripon, in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and seaside towns such as Whitby. The location of our school allows our children and young people to take advantage of being close to the local community to develop important life and social skills.

Spring Hill School supports students aged 8-18 with a primary diagnosis of Autism. Some of our young people have associated Mental Health and Complex Needs and come to Spring Hill to gain valuable guidance, life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their journey towards independence.

**Main Purpose of the Job**

The postholder will be responsible for the School’s reception service and as a member of the administration team, provide a range of administrative support services to ensure the efficient and effective running of the school.

As the first point of contact with the school and with the emphasis on customer service and care, the postholder will be required to provide effective and efficient operation of the school’s telephone system and gated entry system, answering and directing incoming calls, taking messages for unavailable staff and forwarding these on, dealing with external and internal enquiries both via the telephone system or at Reception welcoming visitors to site. You will be responsible for the distribution of incoming post to the relevant area/department on Campus.

Responsibilities will include providing admin support to the school and on-site children’s home, working flexibly to support the needs of the business including adequate cover of the Main Office/Reception.

**Responsibilities**
- Welcoming visitors on site and following Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures for all visitors
- Management of the School Meeting Rooms and School Vehicle Diaries - distributing the weekly schedule to the whole site.
- Support the office team in carrying out day-to-day administrative requirements of the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff
- Management of the school vehicles online ‘Fleet’ portal

**Person Specification**
- Good basic education to GCSE standard - GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
- Good knowledge and confident use of Word and Excel
- To be flexible and highly organised
- Good written and oral communication and organisational skills
- Being able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
- A problem solver with a ‘can do’ approach
- Ability to keep calm and focussed in pressurised situations

**Desirable - **NVQ Level 2/3 in Administration.
