**Learning Support Techncian**

**Hull**

**Salary: £3,825.79 exact per annum, £20,222 **FTE per annum**

**7 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**

As our **Learning Support Techncian**,** **you** **will support student learning by providing practical support to students with additional learning needs. The support required will directed by the student and will include using equipment that is pertinent to the student’s area of study, for example, sewing machine, over locker, print press, heat press etc

**Responsibilities of our** **Learning Support Techncian**:

- To support students with additional learning needs to access the college sites and services, and integrate into their learning environment
- Complete practical tasks as directed by the student, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
- Communicate with the curriculum team regarding student’s progress and support needs
- To work closely with academic staff and the wider learner & customer services department as a team to provide reasonable adjustment for learners with additional needs
- Promote a teaching, learning and working environment that is free from discrimination and where all students and staff are encouraged to express their individuality.
- Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
- Undertake such additional duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the level of responsibility within the College at any of the College’s sites or place of work.

**What we’re looking for in our** **Learning Support Techncian**:

- GCSE (A -C) or equivalent in Maths and English
- NVQ 2/3 or equivalent in Fashion and Textiles
- Level 2 Supported Learning or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Health and Safety policy/procedures
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
