We are looking for a HCA to join our nursing team on our Cardiology ward. There are opportunities to develop your career supported by an established and welcoming team. If you are eager to learn and develop new skills in an acute care setting then this role is for you

Our ward is a busy proactive 28 bedded area specialising in Cardiology. We provide diagnostic and treatment for cardiac conditions, procedures, implantation of cardiac devices, and medical care for patients with both acute and chronic cardiac problems, and acutely unwell general medical patients. We are an established team and although it is a very busy and demanding ward we work closely as a team and deal with the day to day pressures with positivity and high levels of energy.

We love making a difference and working together as a close family to gain the rewards of making our patients journey enjoyable and successful. In order to do this we are looking for nurses with a genuine interest in acute medicine to join us.

Experience of working with medical patients in a hospital setting would be beneficial, and working well within a team is also essential.

You will need to be flexible in your working hours to work shifts/unsocial hours including nights as required. You must have a willingness to undertake further training to support the team in the management of patients with acute cardiology conditions.

Experience of working with acute patients in a hospital setting would be beneficial, and working well within a team is also essential.

You will be responsible for providing a range of personalised care for patients and a range of clinical duties under the guidance and supervision of the team leader/nurse in charge including: assisting patients with personal hygiene, toileting, use of continence aids, catheter care, stoma care, measuring & monitoring patient output, moving and handling, use of mobility appliances, correct patient positioning, assess pressure areas and skin integrity, ensuring patient safety, taking specimens including blood sugars, taking and recording physical measurements observing patients for changes in condition, carrying out simple dressings, removal of venflons.

You must have a willingness to undertake further training, such as; venepuncture and cannulation, ECG recording to support the team in the management of patients with acute medical conditions.
