Serenity Home Services is therapeutic children home, seeking experienced Children's Senior Residential Workers to provide support to children with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours in our Therapeutic home.

Position: Senior Residential Support Worker
Salary Range: £12 - £14 per hour depending on experience, including £35 per night sleep-in allowance.

Weekend and shift work required.
Key Requirements:

- Previous supervisory experience for the senior role.
- NVQ L3 in Children & Young People is a must.
- At least one year of experience working with EBD children or Youth Worker experience.
- A full UK driving license is required.
- DBS - A Disclosure Baring Service check will be required for this post.

Purpose of Job:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of childcare practice through the day-to-day operations of Serenity Home Services. This will be done in collaboration with the requirements set forth by the Children’s Home Manager and National Minimum Care Standards.

**Duties**:

- Creating a structured environment that meets the emotional needs of each child, building on their strengths and previous experiences.
- Following the care home manager's staff rota.
- Making decisions in the best interest of the children.
- Liaising with schools, providers, and parents.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Acting as a key worker for an allocated child.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents.
- Safeguarding children and responding to their physical and emotional needs.
- Completing day-to-day paperwork and reports.
- Upholding the standards and delivery of care set by Serenity Home Services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working collaboratively with the team.
- Adhering to confidentiality guidelines and ensuring proper record-keeping in the home.
- Ensuring the home is safe and secure to safeguard the children.
- Understanding each child's specific needs and requirements.
- Complying with relevant professional and administrative practices and procedures.
- Ensuring high-quality care is provided to the children in line with their placement plans.
- Contributing to a positive atmosphere that serves the best interests of the children.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with the children and fellow staff members.
- Taking responsibility in the event of a fire and following safety procedures.
- Responding professionally and courteously to telephone calls made to the unit during duty hours.
- Actively seeking professional development opportunities.

**Job Types**: Temporary / Full-time

**Salary**: £12-£14 per hour depending on experience

Schedule:

- 12-hour shift / 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus

**Experience**:

- EBD Children or Youth Worker or Neurodevelopmental difficulties: 1 year (preferred)
- Residential Children’s Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ L3 in Children & Young People (minimum) NVQ L4 (preferred)
- Full UK Driving License (preferred)
- Restraint training (preferred)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (required)
- DBS Update Service

Work Location: In person
