**About the role** Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Scheduler to join our Living Places business unit to work at our Pode Hole Depot in Lincolnshire.
Role Purpose:
- Responsible for the planning of all types of reactive / revenue / emergency works using Confirm whilst ensuring that sufficient works are allocated to operational resources to achieve optimum productivity and contractual response times;
- Ensuring a right first-time approach is achieved across all aspects of planning and delivery through validation of incoming works, client liaison for issue resolution and auditing of completed works to ensure data accuracy;
- End to end management of the planning of project specific reactive maintenance activities.
**What you'll be doing** As a Scheduler you will be:
Planning and Allocation of works:
- Review of incoming works to ensure required information is provided (Job Packs / TM Forms etc);
- Detailed validation of incoming works to include an assessment of information to complete the works and specialist materials or plant requirements;
- Scheduling of works;
- Liaise with the works originator over any queries;
- Act as focal point for client liaison for jobs whereby information is insufficient to aid a right first-time approach to delivery;
- Interfacing with construction teams to maximise opportunities for joint planning and delivery;
- Planning and monitoring of all reactive works;
- Highlight and potential clashes on the network which could impact on countywide programmes.
Project specific routine maintenance activities:
- liaison with clients to determine scope of works;
- Communication with members of the client team to determine approval of work scope;
- Communication with members of the client team throughout the works delivery;
- Management of programme.
- Supports and contributes to continuous improvement;
Supply Chain:
- Allocation of works to subcontractors;
- Monitoring/management of works planned and completed by subcontractors;
Client:
- Resolution of queries relating to planned and completed works;
- Management of jobs in query list;
- Reporting of information as required by the client team.
General:
- Supporting the delivery of winter service provision;
- Deputise for Schedulers to cover periods of absence.
**Who we're looking for** Personal Qualities and Experience:
- Experience of working on a Highways Maintenance Contract including operational;
- A good knowledge of permit and streetlighting would be an advantageous;
- Understanding of emergency and winter service operations;
- Good level of Business Acumen;
- Good interpersonal skills: communication, can provide clear direction;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Adaptable to changing situations;
- Teamwork;
- Root cause problem solving;
- Commercial Awareness;
- Understanding of basic works programming;
- Use of IT systems; specifically excel.
