**Overview**

At SJOG Hospitaller Services, UK, we are part of a family of SJOG charities from the UK, Ireland and Malawi that support people most in need.

Saint John of God Community Services in Malawi, founded in 2000, provides mental health services, self-help programs for women, and services for children with a disability or learning disabilities (including street children) at their Hospital buildings in Mzuzu and Lilongwe. Services are also provided at mental health and disability clinics in the surrounding townships and villages.

In the UK, we are working with our colleagues in Malawi to increase fundraised income to support and sustain their services.

Based in the UK, we are recruiting an exceptional fundraiser with demonstrable international fundraising experience to secure trust and grant income for services in Malawi. The role will require working with colleagues in the UK, Ireland and Malawi to ensure that fundraising activities are aligned to the vision and strategy of services, and needs of the community in Malawi.

This is an exciting role and a new area of work for us at SJOG Hospitaller Services, UK. You will be part of the opportunities team, which includes fundraising (supporting UK services), service design, and research and policy.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Track record of securing funding for international development
- Working across complex funder/ donor relationships
- Database management
- Project management experience
- Ability to produce compelling reports
- Excellent written, verbal and communications skills
- Research skills
- Confident in MS Office
- High attention to detail
- Organised with an ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work with colleagues from the UK, Ireland, and Malawi
- Able to work under own initiative

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Relevant training, or qualification accredited by the Institute of Fundraising
- A member of a relevant professional body (CIM, IOF or similar)
- Experience of Raisers Edge CRM system or similar

The role is hybrid in nature and will require travel to SJOG Hospitaller Service, UK, Head Office in Darlington once a month. The role may also require travel to Malawi on occasions.
